About dreamscape

Still curious after all these years.

We started in 2001 as two people with one habit: "What happens if we try this?"

Twenty-five years on, the tools have changed. The question hasn't. We still take half-formed ideas and turn them into things people actually use.

Whatever you're thinking, think Dreamscape.

Two young folks incorporated us in 2001 as "Digital Dreamscape," back when digital needed saying, out loud, slowly, to people who had a fax machine.

We built McDonald's India's first website (in Flash, no less), worked with Hungama on India's first homegrown music app (waaaay before Spotify), and made Mirror XI, India's first fantasy gaming platform, for The Times of India. It's a loooong list.

Two decades on, we're still at it. Design, tech, and marketing under one roof, so nothing gets lost between them.

Our journey

A brief history.

2004 · Beginning First contract, first big break Start operations with a $400 website contract from a UK marketing firm. Bag McDonald's India, our first big break.
2006 · Growth Team of 10, first platform build We grow to a team of 10. The Times of India, India's largest media company, engages us to build their fantasy sports platform Mirror XI.
2008 · Consolidate Official tie-ups, new playing field Official tie-ups with iGATE, Nimbus Media, and the BCCI catapult us to the next level of opportunities. It's a new playing field now.
2010 · Pivot Mobile explodes, app division opens Mobile explodes. We set up our app division and design the official music app for Hungama.com, India's largest online entertainment company. An award-winning debut.
2014 · Overdrive From apps to products Mobile leads us to the art and craft of designing user experiences and building products that users interact with intimately and immediately.
2017 · Looking ahead Hyper growth via acquisitions Hyper growth via acquisitions positions Dreamscape as India's leading product digital company in the mobile and web space.
2020 · Vision Wider opportunities, digital-first Explore wider opportunities in the digital space. Design and disrupt through innovative solutions.
2023 · 360° Digital The full-stack organisation The onset of a full-stack digital organisation, combining design, technology, data, and marketing into one truly digital-first offering.

How we work

Six rules, none of them about deliverables.

01 · no pitch theatre

Have a point of view by call two.

If we don't have one, we shouldn't be on the project. Saves everyone the choreography.

02 · words first

Write it before you design it.

If the words are wrong, the layout's just a paint job. We obsess over the copy doc, then we open Figma.

03 · the right metric

Measure the moment, not just the metric.

CTR is fine. People telling their friends about it is better. We track both.

04 · ai is a verb

AI does the boring half.

Asset generation, draft passes, research synthesis. The taste is still ours. Always.

05 · candor

Be the bad-news friend.

We'll tell you what's wrong before the market does. It's the part of the job clients keep coming back for.

06 · speed

Ship, then refine.

Perfect is a tax on speed. We pay it where it counts, not everywhere.

Where we're headed

Keep being curious. Keep making work we'd want to use.

That's it. We're not chasing a billing target or a logo wall. We're trying to stay the kind of studio that's fun to call on a Tuesday afternoon, and useful by Wednesday morning.
